bike

ok today im gonma rant on about some shit that happened a while ago but i just want to write it down so here goes.
im no bike nut or fixed gear dude either, but quite a while ago i was browsing the internerd looking at bike frames i stumbled upon a beautiful khs Aero track bike instantly i fell in love with it because it has a curved seat tube. i decided i need to have one, lckily i found out that they are not very expensive bikes just hard to find. so i began my search, ebay, no luck craigslist, nothing. this went on for a couple of months until decided to expand my craigslist search out side of the bay area. alas i found the bike i was looking for being sold in boston. i immediately contacted the seller and asked if they would be willing to sell it to me and send it or if i could have a friend in the boston area pick it up. the seller wrote me back saying that he was ok with just shipping it to me. his asking price was 600 dollars plus and extra 50-70 for shipping i said i was good with that and asked if i should send the money to a friend or paypal him the money.....no answer. a couple weeks later he emails me asking if im still interested i say yes and again ask how i should pay him....no answer. at this point i assume he has sold the bike locally and is avoiding my emails. ohh well ill keep looking. about a week later im browsing ebay and what do you know the exact same bike that homie was selling on craigslist he now has on ebay with a starting price 100 dollars cheaper than what he was originally asking. sweet. im the winning bidder great i immediately paypal the money and he says hell be shipping the bike soon.. great. weeks later nothing. i email him no response....fuck! email him again...again nothing. weeks later he emails me with all sorts of apologies about how hes moving been really busy i say fine what ever just send the bike. weeks later, again nothing...fuck! at this pint i file a claim to get my money back, i also see another khs aero track frame on ebay and bid on that. a few weeks and a few emails later hes says he cant find a box to ship it in i tell him i dont give a shit and to send my bike. now ive won the second frame on ebay and the original frame shows up about 3 days before the second frame. great now i have 2 frames. ok the original bike has the following wrong with it huge dent in the downtube, scooterchain the chainring is shot the seatpost is seized, and so is the stem...wtf! anyway to make a long story short (semi short at least.) i email hime telling him he screwed me he says i got a good deal on the wheelset (i didnt care about the wheelset) about a week later he emails me saying that paypal took 200 dollars out of his account and deposited into my account because i filed a claim...i told him in one of the many emails i sent him that he needs to respond to paypals dispute and claims emails that paypal was sending him to make sure thus didnt happen he didnt to bad so sad. so the moral of the story. that old classic line.... buyer beware there are some shyster motherfucks out there. anyhow here a pic of the bike that i managed to put together out the the 2 frames... obviously using the non dented (although i took the dented one to a shop and they said it is rideable but still a bummer)

records

so i picked up some fairly new slabs of vinyl over the past couple weeks and i cannot stop listening to LET DOWN'S "were in this alone" this record is so pissed off straight edge. its reminiscent of bandd like FLOORPUNCH or even EARTH CRISIS (in the edgeness alone unlike EARTH CRISIS, LET DOWN deliver) theres like 11 or songs of those 11 eight are easily about straight edge and im fucking loving it. anyhow if your a pissd off edgeman or just a fan of ragin core i highly recommend this record...more soon.

7 SECONDS interview '81 '82ish

I got a 7 SECONDS demo via ebay today and there is a pretty cool interview included with it so i figure id put it up here for everyone to check out. Unfourtunatly there is pretty much no info on the year it was done but they talk about the 1st seven in ch just coming out so my guess would be '82 possibly '81. enjoy.

TV..Tesco Vee Maybe I dunno
K..Kevin Seconds
S..Steve Youth
B..Bix Biggler

7 SECONDS exemplifies the growing number of solid youth bandsworthy of a hulluva lot more exposure....thus the following interview(im a Noble sort aint i?)
TV: hows the e.p. coming? how did you land the alternative tentacles deal?
K: the e.p. should be out this summer it'l be 9 songs. Jello is Talking to faulty products about distrobution. we got lucky. i was talking to Biafra on the phone and he said they could put the record out. we were originally gonna do something on Dischord , but the money was'nt there.
TV: hows the Skeeno scene these days?
S: fucking great! things up here looking good gig wise. 3 Clubs have offere us there placesso things should start picking up, just like the old days. we had a great show with DOA and TSOLon the 25th of april. once again alot of new kids showed up. the hall was super cool. great stage for diving, great florr for rucking. i swear it was so fin tons of thrashing and stage diving and not one fight. anyway MINOR THREAT are coming out in july and that'll definetly be killer!
K: another thing abou the scen here is that is factioned out into several groups of people. like you got the 1st generation of punk here for the most part have remainedtotyally committed to the local hardcore scene. thats where the creative output starts bands, fanzines, people putting on shows, all come out of this group of people. then youve got the 2nd generation which lives off the reputation and work of the first, but come to the shows and give support nonetheless. then of course theres the 3rd and most recent factionmostly consists of really young highschool kidslike the skatepunks and the wooster high crew. they are the majority of our following and fucking totally cool. the scene here is very touchy but the dedication is unparralled.
TV: where and how recently did you play out?
S: we played in SF with the DEAD KENNEDYS, TSOL and the BAD BRAINS at the elite club, probably one of our best shows, thats what everyone said anyway. we got a great response for not playing SF for awhile, we even made $240.00 thats the most weve ever made. we had a great time.
TV: is the e.p. all new material or stuff from the tapes?
S: a few old a few new

K: ya the songs on the e.p. will be; "Skins Brains and Guts"/"No Authority"/"Redneck Society"/"Baby Games"/"Racism Sucks"/We're Gonna Fight"/"This Is My Life"/"I Hate Sports"/and "Anti-Klan", all the songs have been newly recorded and are quite a bit faster than before. we've also recorded a song "Fuck Your America" for an album coming out on Alternative Tentacles called "Not So Quiet On The Western Front" whick will feature 47 bands from all over northern California and Nevada. the Nevada bands are us, SECTION 8, THE WRECKS, URBAN ASSAULT, and MIA who are from Vegas.
TV: whats the status of YOUTH CRISIS?
S: YOUTH CRISIS was a very brief project, we never played out, I dont want to brag but YOUTH CRISIS was a fucking killer band we had a lot of great songs. it was a good idea but at the time we were to busy working with 7 SECONDS. maybe someday we'll play again, but its hard to tell. we're still putting something out on Vicious Scam.
K: plus Steve and I are putting out other efforts into UNITED TRUST (formerly MORAL DISRUPT)our new band which is closer to the English hardcore sound than the stuff we do in 7 SECONDS. by the way Steve and I play in more Skeeno fuck band than anyone. wait till you here the Skeeno HC compilation tape.
TV: anyplanms to tour the midwest or east?
K: we plan to tour in august or goal is to hit DC and the midwest ABOVE ALL!
S: ya Ken and I made a promise to ourselves that we would definetly play out there this summer and we will
K: so anyone out there that can get us gigs call us at (702) 322-8496 well trade a gig in Skeeno for gigs in other cities.
TV: why is your music so absoulutly choice?
S: i dont know, is it?
K: cos we dont do drugs! No, we just take out music seriously we firmly believe and commit ourselves to the music as well as the lifestyle if your a punk you have to be 100% a punk, if your a hippie be 100% a hippie, but dont just fucking stand in the way. people think all you have to do is shave your head, listen to all the LA bands and beat the shit out of your friendsand other punks and thats total fucking shit! we care about people above all, the kids who make the shows so fuckng great! thats what is so fucking great about the kids here in Skeeno. if it wasnt for then we wouldnt play we believe in youth totally! 100&!
TV: how is Ma Seconds these days?
S: shes fine, still trying to convince me to stop shavin my head, ohh yea she says hi to THE FIX .
K: yea her favorite bands are 7 SECONDS, BLACK FLAG, THE FIX, and DOA. she supports what we do entirly, except when we shave our heads, she really believe in what we do.
TV: what happend to Dim?
K: hes playing in SECTION 8 and may move to LA this summer.he is one of my best friends and is a great singer and preformer.
S: when Dim was in 7 SECONDS we had a lot of band problems, things were just not working out so we went trio and Dim Formed SECTION 8 hes one of the coolest dudes aroud and fun to be with he mught roadie for us on the tour.

A few things for the first post
-i make no promises to update this on a regular basis (but im gonna give it a shot)
-i make no promises of actually intersting content (again I will try though)
-you should care deeply about what i have to say:)

Record Recommedation

COMMON CAUSE: i dl'ed this bands demo hella long ago from a message baord, it shreds. Rcently i just picked up the 7 inch entitled Statment of Purpose, as soon as i saw the cover of this record i immediatly thought of JUDGE The Storm. I really like the vocals for this band, think Dan O Mahoney of NFAA fame, the music is pretty standard youth crew style hardcore done very well though so you know id love it.
